If you haven't heard yet, Justin Turner was announced as the official ambassador of the Skechers Performance Los Angeles Marathon, scheduled for Sunday, March 18th. This year will be the 33rd LA Marathon, and as an ambassador, Turner will be the honorary race starter. JT is the first Dodger EVER to represent such an honor. In addition to Justin being the ambassador, his foundation, the Justin Turner Foundation, will also be one of the 75+ official charities helping to raise money by participating in not only the marathon, but also in the LA BIG 5K at Dodger Stadium on Saturday, March 17, and the Stadium vs. Sea Charity Challenge, which will be taking place the same day as the marathon. The Stadium vs. Sea Charity Challenge will give participants the option to either run from Dodger Stadium to Hollywood (Stadium), or from Hollywood to Santa Monica (Sea).
By signing up for any of the three races through the Justin Turner Foundation, participants will have the chance to win awesome prizes depending on how much is raised. These are the four levels of fundraising:
Level 1 - Single ($1,200)
By reaching Level 1, you will earn: The exclusive Team Justin Turner Foundation t-shirt and an autographed Justin Turner baseball.
Level 2 - Double ($5,000)
By reaching Level 2, you will earn: The exclusive Team Justin Turner Foundation t-shirt, an autographed Justin Turner baseball, and an autographed Justin Turner jersey.
Level 3 - Triple ($7,500)
By reaching Level 3, you will earn: The exclusive Team Justin Turner Foundation t-shirt, and autographed Justin Turner baseball and jersey, and two passes for you and a guest to watch batting practice before a 2018 Dodger game.
Level 4 - Home Run ($10,000)
The first individual to reach Level 4 will earn: The exclusive Team Justin Turner Foundation t-shirt, an autographed Justin Turner baseball and jersey, 4 game tickets and 4 passes to watch batting practice before a 2018 Dodger game, as well as the opportunity for you and a guest to have dinner with Justin and his wife, Kourtney!
The Justin Turner Foundation formed in 2016, and since then has raised thousands of dollars to help many in the Los Angeles area, such as children and families battling life altering illnesses, homeless Veterans, our military, and Little League baseball and softball. They are hoping to raise at least $250,000 from the LA Marathon weekend!
