Dennis Santana was born in San Pedro de Macoris, Dominican Republic in 1996. The 22-year-old is the Dodgers latest call-up from Oklahoma City.
In 2013, Santana signed with the Dodgers as an international free agent. He made his professional debut with the Dominican Summer League Dodgers. In 2015, he pitched for the Ogden Raptors and the Arizona League Dodgers. The following year he pitched for the Great Lake Loons. Santana was a Midwest League All-Star with the Loons.
In 2017, Santana started the season with the Rancho Cucamonga Quakes, and later that season got promoted to the Tulsa Drillers. He then began the 2018 season in Tulsa but got promoted to Oklahoma City in May. While in Oklahoma, Santana started two games and went 1-1. His ERA was 2.45.
We are so excited about Dennis Santana getting the call and can't wait to cheer him on. Make sure to tune in to the Dodgers vs. Rockies series this weekend to see if he makes his debut!
